However, if you want to avoid the “why did I do that?” moment, be on guard against these impulsive hot-headed choices. Here’s a look at decisions you’ll almost always regret making in the heat of the moment.

1. Sending the angry text/email

It’s tempting to fire off a scathing message in the heat of the moment, but you really should resist. Once you hit send, those harsh words are out there, even if you cool down and apologize. Take a deep breath instead. Write a draft if you need to vent, but don’t send it. Address the issue once you’re calmer and can think clearly.

Words can cut deep. When emotions are high, we might say things we don’t mean, especially to those we love. Those hurtful comments linger long after the argument is over.
